When Harry Potter Birthday is?

When Harry Potter Birthday is? I questioned whether the fandom was still that excited about Harry’s birthday. I recently rewatched the entire Harry Potter series (all eight films!) with my roommates. Personally, I’d seen them all and read every book at least a dozen times.

But two of my roommates had never heard of Harry Potter! While watching the movies with them, I noticed that, aside from the iconic Hagrid cake scene, some of the scenes involving Harry’s birthday had been cut out.

After seeing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, one of my roommates remarked, “I wonder what his star sign is.”

Of course, as a die-hard fan, I knew the answer. Harry is a Leo because he was born on July 31st. Because that date is approaching, I was curious if people were still celebrating.

In the past, I remember that fans used to go to Universal Studios on 7/31 to pay homage to “The Boy Who Lived. However, given the state of the world, I questioned whether the fandom was still that excited about Harry’s birthday.

I did a deep dive and would like to share my findings with you all!

What date is Harry Potter’s birthday?

J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter share a birthday on July 31st. As I previously stated, this makes Harry Potter a Leo. This is particularly intriguing given that the animals associated with Leos are lions.

In addition, lions are the animals associated with the Gryffindor house. In fact, many Gryffindor and Leo characteristics overlap. The element assigned to Gryffindor is fire, and Leo is a fire sign.

Gryffindors are most famous for their bravery and chivalry. Many people are brave, but their bravery is often reckless. On the negative side, they may be perceived as arrogant, cocky, and self-righteous, with little regard for authority or rules. Meanwhile, Leos are known for being generous, protective, and loyal.

This is a perfect match for Gryffindors. Alternatively, some characteristics, such as a fondness for drama and ambition, do not always coincide perfectly. Other characteristics that stood out to me in Leos were strong leadership qualities (often considered natural-born leaders), independence, and the ability to inspire those around them.

Certain Gryffindors share the negative traits commonly assigned to Leos. For example, they are being bossy and take charge when others don’t want them to, as Harry’s BFF Hermione Granger is frequently portrayed.

In contrast, Leos are known for being easily irritated when they do not receive attention or acknowledgment, which reminds me a lot of Harry’s other BFF Ron Weasley when interacting with the Horcrux.

The combination of traits shocked me. Is Gryffindor the Leo house, or is Harry Potter the most Leo person? Do you believe J.K. Rowling’s choice of traits was intentional or just a coincidence?
