If you conducted a poll with a large number of people and asked which franchise was the most popular in the world, the answer “Harry Potter” is almost certain to appear more than once during the course of the voting. So Warner Bros. CEO Wants More ‘Harry Potter’ Films??
The Harry Potter (and larger Wizarding World) brands have generated BILLIONS of dollars in revenue over the course of their existence thanks to the sales of movies, books, and even theme park lands. However, at this time, Warner Bros. is planning to capitalize on the name once more in the hopes of producing additional Harry Potter movies.
The comments that Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav made about the future of the company were discussed at an investor’s meeting, and those comments have been published by The Hollywood Reporter. Zaslav made the observation that Warner Bros. intends to concentrate on franchises as a method of conducting business in the foreseeable future. “We haven’t had a Superman movie in 13 years,” he said. Since we last produced a Harry Potter film, 15 years have passed. Warner Bros. has made a significant portion of its profits over the past 25 years thanks, in large part, to the DC Comics and Harry Potter film franchises.
After mentioning that franchise, Zaslav went back to talking about the Harry Potter series. The studio also has the theatrical rights to The Lord of the Rings, but he chose to focus on the Harry Potter series. The executive asked if there was anything they could do with J.K. Rowling regarding Harry Potter moving forward. You probably don’t need us to tell you that the global gross for the first eight Harry Potter movies, which totaled $7.7 billion, is a substantial amount of money.
