In a cute shot that was uploaded to Instagram, actor Tom Felton can be seen posing with the actual Draco Malfoy outfit that he wore in the Harry Potter films. In 2021, it will have been 20 years since the first film in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was released. This was the film that first introduced audiences to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as well as the cast of young actors who brought these cherished characters to life.
Even now, more than a decade after the premiere of the last film in the Harry Potter series, the franchise’s popularity continues to soar, thanks in large part to the cultural phenomenon that followed the conclusion of the last film.
The character of Malfoy, played by Felton, served as a constant source of irritation for Harry Potter throughout the entirety of the film series. Since Harry and Malfoy were members of opposing houses—Slytherin and Gryffindor, respectively—they constantly showed their contempt for one another throughout the course of the movie.
Felton has gone on to feature in a number of significant projects in the years after the completion of the emotionally draining Harry Potter series. These ventures include Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Flash, which airs on the CW.
Felton has continued to delight fans despite having moved on from his time as the bleach-blonde bully by consistently referencing and discussing his time at Hogwarts, often sharing fun stories from the set and displaying his Slytherin pride in a variety of ways. Despite having moved on from that time, Felton has continued to reference and discuss his time at Hogwarts.
Now, in a new shot that was uploaded to Instagram, Felton can be seen reuniting with one of the Draco Malfoy costumes that he wore in the past. At the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, which showcases a variety of sets, props, and costumes from the films, Felton posed with an ancient Hogwarts school uniform that was worn by Malfoy while standing on the set that represented the Slytherin common room.
Felton gently captioned the photograph “Before & after,” with a reference to the significant height gap between the two of them. Many people took to the comments section to express how adorable the shot is. Check out the post that Felton has below.
It would appear that Felton is participating in a number of activities that are connected to the Harry Potter franchise, as the actor recently posted a picture of himself at the Wizarding World at Universal Studios Hollywood, in which he wore a sweater associated with the Slytherin house and drank a glass of Butterbeer.
The actor has already discussed the possibility of reprising his role as Malfoy in the future. In response, he claimed that he would leap at the opportunity to bleach his hair again and that he would even willingly return to play the role of his own kid if given the chance.
The much-anticipated Harry Potter reunion special from the previous year brought back a number of the film’s actors, including Felton, who appeared with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint to discuss the cherished series.
It is unknown what the future holds for Malfoy and whether or not there is a possibility that Felton could reprise his role as the character at some point in the future. While Felton continues to excite fans of Harry Potter with his references to the Wizarding World, it is also unknown whether or not there will ever be an opportunity for Felton to reprise his role.
The Harry Potter cast reunion special undoubtedly rekindled many fans’ interest in seeing their favorite actors reprise their roles in the Harry Potter series. Due to the fact that the Wizarding World has now shifted its focus to the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, which will see the release of its third installment this month, it is fair to say that it could be a while before Felton has a reason to be back in his Slytherin robes on screen.
