In addition to the Newest Tomb Raider Movie series written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Amazon will extend the Tomb Raider world with a new feature.
Amazon has stated that they are also working on a remake of the Tomb Raider television series, and the company is also developing a new Tomb Raider movie. Since its inception in 1996, the legendary Tomb Raider video game brand has spawned more than a dozen different installments, each of which focuses on the adventures of the fearless archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft.
The video games have already been turned into movies twice, the first time with Angelina Jolie playing the title role in the 2001 film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its 2003 sequel Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, and the second time with Alicia Vikander playing the title role in the 2018 film Tomb Raider.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon is working on a new Tomb Raider reboot film that will tie into their previously announced Tomb Raider series. The script for the film will be written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag, who will also be playing a character similar to Lara Croft in the upcoming film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
These related initiatives are a part of a new overall arrangement with dj2 Entertainment, which is the firm created by Dmitri M. Johnson, the producer of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
Waller-Bridge will not be contributing to the script of the movie, and it is very unlikely that she will be in front of the camera either since it has been rumored that she will not be playing the role of Lara Croft in the movie.

Is Tomb Raider Prepared for a Connected Universe?

With the release of this new Tomb Raider movie, Amazon is working toward the goal of creating its own linked Marvel-inspired world. The production firm has plans to launch a tie-in video game in addition to the feature film and the television series, as well as any more seasons or sequels that may be spawned by them in the future.
Although they are just working on a single game at the moment, there is the possibility that other sequels may be developed if the current one is successful. It is not known at this time whether or not the video game version of Lara Croft will be developed to appear like the actress who will ultimately be hired in the role.
However, despite the fact that many companies have the ambition to create their own expanded universes similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe, these endeavors are not always successful. Universal discovered this the hard way with their failed attempt at creating the Dark Universe.
Although the Tomb Raider brand has produced its fair share of spinoffs within the video game industry, the series is largely built on Lara Croft as opposed to a deep bench of other renowned characters.
If just one actor plays the part, there will be a limit on the number of new movies and series that the actor can appear in, and there will be a cap on the amount of interest that the general public may sustain in those projects.
Is the Tomb Raider Franchise’s Third Time Lucky?

Amazon undoubtedly exudes a sense of self-assurance over its capacity to successfully shepherd Lara Croft into a new age with regard to its Tomb Raider world. Given the success of their adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is based on the book of the same name, it is possible that they may be able to keep a live-action spinoff of the brand running for more than two installments.
This would be the first time that the non-game aspect of the series shows any indications of durability, which would be big for the legendary character of Lara Croft if it were to happen.
