Michael Gambon was conspicuously absent from the reunion special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, despite playing the renowned character of Dumbledore. Unfortunately, Gambon’s absence is thought to be owing to his bad health. Since the actor revealed in 2015 that he was experiencing memory loss, which was impacting his ability to perform.

Although this hasn’t been verified. No official reason for Gambon’s absence in Return to Hogwarts has been offered. The absence of Dumbledore in the Harry Potter Reunion saddened many fans.
