This moment demonstrates that Harry’s legacy will continue long after his classmates have graduated from Hogwarts and started their adult lives elsewhere in the world. This could have been accomplished in a very effective manner by having Harry’s children take on this responsibility.
If this prologue had taken place fewer than 19 years after the battle, it would have been implied that Rowling’s protagonists had children in their early years of adulthood, which is probably not the story she wanted to tell at this point.
The Golden Three is an easy target for attention in this scene; however, the most crucial takeaway is related to their offspring. Harry’s childhood was consumed by his fight against Voldemort, the most dangerous wizard in the world; however, his children’s childhoods should not be.
