Daniel Radcliffe’s newest position is just a little “bizarre” – and no, that’s not an insult. The Harry Potter actor has traded Harry’s spherical glasses for some classic wire frames to painting parody singer “Bizarre Al” Yankovic within the Roku biopic WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
The teaser trailer for the biopic was launched by Roku at its 2022 NewFronts presentation right this moment, in keeping with Selection. Yankovic, who co-wrote the movie’s script alongside director Eric Appel, shared the trailer on Twitter and on YouTube.
The teaser options Yankovic’s 1985 parody of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin,” titled “Like a Surgeon,” enjoying within the background, and it’s famous that the movie is “coming this fall.” Selection provides that viewers can count on the movie to be one thing of a parody too:
The film is billed as a ‘untold true story’ of Yankovic, documenting ‘Bizarre Al’s’ rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ — in addition to his ‘torrid celeb amorous affairs and famously wicked life-style.’ It’s actually a scripted mockumentary, spoofing tropes that run rampant in self-important biopic.
